According to customer's individual specification different types of headers are used.

1. Welded Header (WH)

This header type is used for all types of fin tube and bare tube heat exchangers providing the tube side medium is not polluted. The header is completely welded on the tube plate. The nozzles can either be placed on the header in or with inclination to the tube direction. Nozzles which are smaller than DN 40 can also be placed on the endplates.

2. Headers with removable covers (RC, RT, RH)

These types are especially used in the chemical and petro-chemical industry due to the possibility of cleaning routines of the tubes.

Header with removable cover (RC)

This type consists of a removable cover plate which is fixed on the header frames with bolts and nuts. The cover plate can be removed for cleaning and inspection routines of the header and the tubes. The nozzles can either be placed on the cover plate or on the header frames. The last mentioned version has the advantage that the connection pipes need not to be disassembled for the cleaning routines. The seal faces are fitted with a flat metal sheet gasket. Maximum operating pressure 25 bar g.

Header with removable cover in tongue and groove version (RT)

This type consists of a removable cover plate which is fixed on the header frames with bolts and nuts. The cover plate can be removed for cleaning and inspection routines of the header and the tubes. The nozzles can either be placed on the cover plate or on the header frames. The last mentioned version has the advantage that the connection pipes need not to be disassembled for the cleaning routines. The seal faces are fitted with a metal gasket. Maximum operating pressure 30 bar g.

Header with removable cover (RH)

This type consists of a removable cover plate which is fixed on the header frames with setscrews. The cover plate can be removed for cleaning and inspection routines of the header and the tubes. The nozzles are placed on the header frames, which allow a tube sided inspection without disassembling the connection pipes. The seal faces are fitted either with a flat metal sheet gasket or with a metal gasket for tongue and groove version. Maximum operating pressure 40 bar g.

3. Plug Header (RP)

This header type is used for high operating pressures due to the completely welded header. Cleaning routines of the tubes can be executed after removing the plugs at the front side of the header. The nozzles are always placed on the header frames. Therefore cleaning and inspection of the tubes is possible without disassembling the connection pipes.
