Fin tube and bare tube heat exchangers are the systems which are mainly used for heat transfer from a gaseous and pressureless medium to a liquid or vaporous one or reverse. The fin tube systems in particular offer a big variety of solutions for different heat transfer requirements.
The tubes are fitted into opposite tube sheets and are welded or rolled afterwards. The inlet and outlet headers can either be formed as a half round shape or rectangular with removable covers. In case of high operating pressures the so called plug-headers are used. Fin tube and bare tube heat exchangers can also be fabricated as coil systems.
